Stimming, short for self-stimulatory behaviour, refers to repetitive actions, sounds, or movements that individuals, particularly those with autism, use to regulate their emotions, process sensory input, or express themselves. Understanding stimming as a neuro affirming approach to self-regulation involves recognising its essential and authentic role in our lives.

It's a natural and important behaviour that supports well-being. Supporting autistic stimming involves creating an environment that respects and accommodates the needs of the autistic community. The significance of stimming goes beyond individual experiences; it serves as a call to address common misconceptions about autism and foster societal acceptance and inclusion.
