Â
During this event, facilitated by Tami Hammond-Collins, we'll watch the webinar together and then discuss afterwards — What resonated with you? What are you taking away from this experience? Is there anything you'd like us to dive-into deeper in our next one? — it's an opportunity for you to watch the webinar with people who get it and participate (or just listen-in with your camera off) during a discussion with our AFTI community.
Â
Tickets are just $30 AUD and are included with your purchase of the LIVE webinar ticket.
For one low price, you get access to:

A Trauma-Informed Approach
to Supporting Autistic People
Autistic people are disproportionately exposed to disregulating events because environments, systems, and expectations frequently fail to accommodate neurodivergent needs. From chronic sensory overload and social exclusion to masking, restraint, misdiagnosis, and repeated experiences of being misunderstood, many autistic individuals develop coping responses that are often overlooked or misinterpreted.
Â
A Trauma-Informed Approach to Autism reframes autistic distress and behaviour through the lens of nervous system safety rather than pathology or compliance. Grounded in trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and strengths-based practice, this webinar explores how trauma and autism can intersect — and why understanding this intersection is essential for ethical, compassionate, and effective support.
Â
Participants will gain insight into recognising trauma responses in autistic people, avoiding re-traumatisation, and creating environments and relationships that support regulation, autonomy, and trust. This session is suitable for autistic adults, parents, carers, clinicians, educators, and support professionals seeking to work in ways that honour lived experience and promote long-term wellbeing.
NOTE: This event is INTERACTIVE. This means you will be invited to respond to discussion questions, share your experience, give your opinion, and, of course, ask questions of your own! (all participation is voluntary)
